This film tells the story a 15 year old girl’s desperate battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and how Idis helped to create access to the medicine she needed. It was after Sarah had exhausted all other treatment options and was running out of time that Idis entered her life. Through contacts in the US the family discovered a drug still in development that might be able to help. Working with the hospital pharmacist and Sarah’s oncologist, Idis facilitated access to the drug she needed through a Managed Access Program they had created with the pharmaceutical company. It was a complex job, requiring an intricate knowledge of the local regulatory framework and other legal peculiarities, but within days the hospital had received the first course of treatment. It was the critical lifeline Sarah needed to carry on. She responded very quickly to the new treatment and both Sarah and her family are now full of hope for the future.
